I had a mild fever all day, basically I wanted to stay in the truck and drink orange juice and water.
So... Of course, I hit a headlight deep rut/mudhole in 2nd lo. knocked the driver front tire off the bead and busted a hub or stub shaft (most likely hub).
Andy winched me back and he, Ethan, and Tristan helped get the tire off and clean all the mud/water/gravel out of it. We only had a 5 gal air tank and not much hope of getting the tire seated and aired up. We chucked the tire into the back of Tristans truck and rode up to where the rest of the group was waiting.
We wrapped Andy's winch cable around the tire and hooked it to Tristan's bumper to spread the beads and used CO2 to blow pop the beads.
We trucked it back down to the Gargoyle, got the tire remounted and I set off in 3wd.
As I approached the rest of the group, I blipped the throttle coming up a small ledge, springs wrapped, rear end hopped, and that all-to-familiar-to-me sound of stripped ring and pinion gears rang out.
Down to 1wd and puking gear oil from where the rear gears decieded to areate the 9" housing, I tucked tail took the strap from a Jeep (James) to get me back facing down hill and out to the gravel road.
Went back to the Market, retreived the tow rig and sulked home to spend the next 24 hours in bed under the daze of Nyquil.
I'm good now.
Thanks to all that helped me out of the woods!
