    Re: Feb Jam Info.

    Hey guys -

I'm sorry I didn't make it down there today.  I had every intention of going - I even talked to Brewster Friday afternoon, nailing down the final details.  Friday night I got a call from my Brother-in-Law that they were looking for volunteers to help clean-up the tornado damage in Sumner County - and he was wanting to go.  I felt like I just needed to be there more than at an off-road club fundraiser right now.

Looking back I don't know if I made the right choice - the really bad places (in Macon County) where they need the most help they still had closed off to "civilians" as there are still around 200 people unaccounted for (only rescue squads and emergency workers are allowed in those areas).  They had us picking up debris and cutting up downed trees behind a subdivision through a large field.  I'm glad we went, but it just didn't feel like we helped very much.  It was pretty amazing though - I would guess a couple thousand people turned out to help in all....

Anyway - I hope I didn't leave you guys hanging too badly, and hope there was enough help there today.  I'm sorry again if anyone got stuck working on their own all day because I didn't show up.

Sounds like a plan to me Chris - I hope you guys weren't too overloaded today.  Was the poor turnout today concerning workers (our club guys) or Feb Jam Participants?

    Re: Feb Jam Info.

Had a great time saturday, even though the Gargoyle isn't much of a rock crawler. I pretty much just rode around in the woods on the easy trail and loaned people tools or help as needed, cut a downed tree, dragged a few busted rigs around.

We seemed to have plenty of help. I want to thank Drennon, Scott, John, Chris, and Chris for taking care of the food all day, each time I came around to see if someone needed a break they all were pretty much doing one job (Drennon did let me load the grill for him once tho).

One group I talked with/loaned tools to (their first time at Mayhem) said the food was much better than they expected for concessions at an offroad park. They were in smaller rigs and said they didnt know that Mayhem was as difficult as it is, although they said they'd definitely come back to watch the big rigs put on a show.
