    Halloween Ride at Pickett

As everyone knows the ride at Pickett on Saturday was designated as the club’s Halloween Ride. Several showed up at the truck stop on HWY 111 at I-40 and several more at Wal-Mart in Jamestown. We had a total of thirteen (13) vehicles – 9 Suzukis, 1 Toyota and 3 Jeeps. Everyone either said or acted like they had a good time. Everyone made it over several big rocks and up the “car hauler” with out any trouble. The only thing damaged during the ride was an upper front shock mount broke off the frame on one of the Suzukis. Several played in a big mud hole and one of the Jeeps flooded and stalled out. After it was dried out and with a little help from a jump-start and some ether it cranked up and ran OK. Everyone was packed-up, loaded-up and headed home just before sunset with the hopes of doing it again. I took several photos and will get them to Matt soon so he can post them on the web site.

How was the ride at Gray Rock?

Sounds great, James!  I wish I could have made it - I have a feeling this house buying/selling/moving will get in the way of my Jeeping for a few months to come....... :-(

    Re: Halloween Ride at Pickett

As James mentioned we had a great time at Pickett Sat. there were 13 rigs that showed up and with the exception of one drowned Jeep,a broken brake line on a Samurai and a broken shock mount no one had any trouble. A big thanks to James and the guys from Crossville for being trail leaders and if anyone hasn't rode the car hauler trail before you should its pretty neat and I bet it would something if it were wet ! I have several pics on disc that i will give to Matt to post. Thats about all I have other than those of you that couldn't go missed a great day of wheelin with a great bunch of poeple.

    Re: Halloween Ride at Pickett

I haven't even unloaded mine yet (mostly because it won't move under it's own power!)

I know my front ring gear is gone, and either the rear gears or the tcase output... Roger broke 2 straight Rockwell shafts on sat.

I've got one more set of 4.56 gears to put in. It'll be gearset number 8 and 9 this year. So if anyone has a good deal on some steering Rockwells I need some. They may not go in the truggy (I've got a 78 F150...) but this axle carnage is getting ridiculous.

Roger can witness for me though, I wasn't easy on it at Morris Mtn. by any means. I mean I ripped some teeth off the front ring gear on a rock call "Punisher"... Then proceded to ride for about another hour or two on gauntlet, v-notch, de-stabilizer... I believe it was copperhead that did me in though.

Nah, the yota is sticking around, just getting "downsized".
